Weight loss story: “I started having eggs twice a day and lost 34 kilos” | The Times of India


I avoided alcohol, sugary soft drinks, junk food, outside food, packed high calorie foods and restricted myself to home made food only. There were times when I had to attend family gatherings or travel and I always used to carry my home cooked food packed with myself. When going out with friends to dine or party, I just used to limit myself with 1 diet coke, 4 pieces of grilled Paneer and green salads without any dressings. I was also strict with my calorie intake, so I used to measure my food and track my calories on a daily basis with the help of various online apps. One of the most important factors is also a good sleep, which we neglect these days, due to mobile/tv binging. I ensured 8hrs of sleep daily and I made it a habit of sleeping and waking up on time.

What was the lowest point for you? Losing my father to COVID, during this journey was the lowest point. During the lockdown I suffered from anxiety & depression.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: I learned that nothing is impossible, if the reason behind your goal is strong enough. And it’s never too late to start. We need to take small steps ahead and change our lifestyles to lead a sustainable healthy life. We should focus on long term habits instead of short term goals. It’s not 50% diet & 50% workout, but it’s a 100% diet & 100% workout with 100% commitment to yourself.
