HYDERABAD: Jubilee Hills police arrested two persons in the recent murder case of a 40-year-old tailor at Karmika Nagar. Police said that the victim was killed by his wife and her lover.
The deceased was Mohammed Siddique Ahmed, from Karmika Nagar. On April 1, Siddique Ahmed’s brother Md Atik Ahmed lodged a complaint with police stating that Siddique’s phone was off for a long time and he along with patrolling police broke the lock of the house and found the body of Siddique in the kitchen.
Police verified the CCTV camera footage near the victim’s house and found a suspect leaving the house on a scooter. During the subsequent probe, police identified the killer as Syed Mohammed Ali, 22, a mechanic from Borabanda. According to police, Mohammed Ali had an affair with Siddique Ahmed’s wife Rubeena, 25, and the victim caught them red handed when they were intimate with each other at his house in Karmika Nagar. Siddique roughed up Ali and subsequently he started physically harassing Rubeena.
“Rubeena informed Ali about the torture from her husband and Ali decided to eliminate Siddique to continue his affair with Rubeena,” West Zone Joint CP AR Srinivas said.
As per Ali’s plan, On March 28, Rubeena went to her parents house along with their children. On March 30 night, Siddique returned home after having dinner at his in-law’s house and Rubeena alerted Ali. The accused gained entry into the victim’s house by opening the door grill latch with a screwdriver and attacked Siddique on the head with a steel rod.
After committing the murder, Ali unsuccessfully tried to stuff the body in the refrigerator before escaping from the spot on victim’s scooter. Police arrested Ali from Nampally and based on his confession arrested Rubeena. The accused were sent in Judicial remand.
