TN policewoman murdered, husband arrested | Chennai News – Times of India

VIRUDHUNAGAR: A policewoman was strangled by her husband in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar on Friday night following a domestic dispute. The Soolakarai police arrested her husband.
The deceased has been identified as Banupriya, 30, who was working at the Virudhunagar west police station. She got married to Vignesh, 35, a TNSTC bus conductor, six years ago.
The couple have a four-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter. The family lived in Kulakarai.
Soolakarai inspector S Karthika said the couple had quarrelled over some issues. Her husband wanted to relocate to Madurai. But Banupriya was against it. The couple argued late on Friday night and Vignesh strangled her with a belt.
Her body was retrieved and sent to the Virudhunagar Medical College Hospital.
A revenue divisional officer was conducting an inquiry into the murder to check if there was dowry harassment as the couple had been married for less than seven years.
