Three men returning to native place to cast their votes die in Tamil Nadu road accident | Madurai News – Times of India

MADURAI: Three men died when a van they were travelling in collided head on with a minitruck near So far in Madurai district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Muthupandi of Mathur, Lingam of Koomapatti and Karupaiah of Paraipatti.
Police said nine people from villages near Watrap in Virudhunagar district were working in Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district. They boarded a van to reach their native places to cast their votes.
The van collided head on with a minitruck on the Usilampatti-Sedapatti Road. In the impact, the truck caught fire. Minitruck driver Peer Mohammed suffered injuries.
Four more other occupants in the van — identified as Tamilrasi, Muthu, Muthumari and Sundaramoorthi — suffered injuries. They were taken to Usilampatti Government Hospital.
