Telangana Rains: Deluge in Nirmal as heavy rain lashes Telangana; several villages cut off | Hyderabad News – Times of India


HYDERABAD: Heavy rain lashed Telangana on Thursday resulting in overflowing of irrigation projects, streams and water bodies. Two persons were rescued in Nirmal district after they were washed away in flood waters.
With flood waters inundating roads, several villages have been cut off in the district.

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has reportedly asked officials to take the assistance of the NDRF to carry out rescue operations.
In Nirmal district’s Dilawalpur, 23.6cm rain was recorded on Thursday morning even as it continued to pour down till the afternoon.

Endowments minister A Indrakaran Reddy visited some of the affected areas and asked the official machinery to render assistance to people who have been stranded due to floods.
In Rajanna Sircilla district, several colonies got inundated due to heavy rain.

The road leading to Yadadri temple was closed after boulders fell on the ghat road in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
The road from Siddipet-Waragal has also been flooded because of the rain and overflowing streams.
