HYDERABAD: In view of a fresh surge in Covid-19 cases and to curb the risk of community transmission of the coronavirus infection, the Telangana State Election Commission has issued guidelines for elections to urban and local bodies.
According to the new guidelines, every person should wear a mask during all the election-related activities and ‘no mask, no entry into polling station’ rule will be implemented strictly.
As per the guidelines, Arogya Setu mobile application would be mandatory for all the election-related personnel. The election candidates would be given an option to file their nomination papers online on commission’s official website.
The candidates will have to submit a printout of their nomination to the returning officer.
During the submission of the printout, only 2 persons can accompany the candidate.
As per the guidelines, sanitisers will also be made available at polling stations and proper social distancing will be maintained.
