HYDERABAD: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday released water from Konda Pochamma Sagar into Haldi Vaagu and through Manjira River, it was sent to Nizam Sagar.
The CM reached Avusulapally village by a special bus in the morning and offered special prayers at Kaleswaram dam.
He then released 1600 cusec water from Konda Pochamma reservoir.
Later, the CM reached Pamulaparthy village in Markuk Mandal where he released Kaleswaram water into Gajwel canal.
“With this, about 32 checkdams between Haldi and Nizamsagar will be filled. The water can be used for irrigation and drinking purpose,” a senior official said.
