Teachmint clocks 500% growth in daily recording of online classes in Tamil Nadu | Chennai News – Times of India


CHENNAI: Live teaching platform Teachmint has noted a 500% increase in daily recording of online classes by teachers in Tamil Nadu, in the last one month. The startup said this is in direct response to the TN government issuing new guidelines in June making it mandatory for all online classes taught in the state to be recorded.
“Since this new directive, the number of teachers signing up on Teachmint has gone up by 300% daily, indicating the rapid adoption of the platform among Tamil Nadu’s teachers. Today, over four lakh teachers & students across the state, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Salem, Trichy and Madurai study on the platform,” Teachmint said in a statement.
Teachmint is a mobile and video-first teaching platform built to help teachers digitise their classrooms. Overall, Teachmint is available in 11 languages, including Tamil. Close to 1,00,000 teachers and students are engaging end-to-end in Tamil on Teachmint.
Mihir Gupta, co-founder & CEO at Teachmint, said there has also been a 3x increase in teacher signups and the company has also made the platform available in Tamil for ease of teachers and students.
