Tamil Nadu assembly elections: Five voters injured as portion of building collapses | – Times of India

CHENNAI: Five voters suffered injuries in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday when a portion of a building, where a polling station was set up, fell on them.
The incident took place in Kandilan village in Mudukulathur constituency. There are 626 voters in the village. The polling booth was set up in a noon meal scheme building.
The village received rain Tuesday morning. A slab on the side of the building became weak and broke. It fell on the voters standing under it. They were waiting to cast their votes.
The injured people were identified as Damodaran, Muniyasamy, Boomi Krishnan, Murugan and Buvaneswari. They were taken to Mudukulathur hospital for treatment.
Revenue officials reached the spot and conducted an inspection.
