TRICHY: The Trichy district administration will set up two temporary bus stands in the city for people heading to their native places to cast their votes on April 6 and returning to their work places after that.
As the existing Central bus terminus is congested, the temporary bus stand will help avoid traffic bottlenecks and overcrowding amid the spread of Covid-19.
The temporary bus stands will be set up on the Williams Road and at Mannarpuram Junction. The bus stand will be open from April 5 to April 7.
While buses to Thanjavur, Nagapattinam and other delta districts will start and end their journeys at the Williams Road bus stand, buses heading to Pudukkottai and southern districts, including Madurai, will use the Mannarpuram temporary bus stand.
Buses to other destinations, including Salem and Coimbatore, will continue to use the Central bus stand.
