Rain in Delhi: Heavy rain accompanied by winds, thunderstorm lashes parts of Delhi-NCR | Delhi News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) received heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning and high-speed wind around midnight, bringing respite from the scorching heat.
Some parts of the national capital witnessed light rain early on Tuesday as well.
“Light intensity rain/drizzle would occur over and adjoining areas of isolated places of Delhi. Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with a speed of 30-50 Km/h would occur over and adjoining areas of Adampur, Hissar, Hansi, Meham, Siwani, Tosham, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri (Haryana) Bhadra, Sidhmukh, Sadulpur (Rajasthan) during next 2 hours,” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its bulletin at 6.58am.

The IMD had predicted ‘very light rain’ or ‘thundershowers’ from Monday to Wednesday.

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, on Monday after a sudden change in the weather on Sunday evening as a dust storm hit parts of the city.
A met official said: “A fresh western disturbance is expected to impact the region, which will lead to the formation of thundery development on Sunday, with ‘light rain’ till Wednesday”.
