CHENNAI: The optional exam for Class XII students aggrieved with the evaluation system and supplement exam for private candidates will be conducted in September or October, school education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi told reporters on Monday.
“There are 39,000 private candidates who registered to take the exam. The directorate of government examinations will, in a few days, open up online application process for students not satisfied with the marks. Based on the numbers, a separate exam will be conducted in September or October, depending on the Covid-19 situation,” the minister said after releasing the Class XII results. The mode of exam will be decided after consulting with the experts, he added.
He further said Class X marksheets will mention all pass in the columns that denote marks.
Responding to a query, the minister said 1.08 lakh students have switched from private to government schools this year. On RTE admissions, the minister said the school education department has received over 36,000 applications so far. The last date to apply is August 3.
He also said the school education department has not decided about splitting the academic year into two like CBSE.
