Mumbai: Virar builder stabbed to death on road in wee hours of Monday | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: A 31-year-old builder was brutally stabbed to death on a road in Virar in the wee hours of Monday by unidentified persons.
Nishant Kadam, a resident of Phoolpada in Virar (east), was headed to a temple to perform puja at around 3 am. The Virar Police suspects that the killers to be someone who knew his movements.
The suspects are believed to have been lying in wait behind a tree. When Kadam reached Gandhi chowk, they took him by surprise. They assaulted him with a sharp weapon and fled. It is not known if Kadam was alone when the assault took place.
Kadam was headed to a temple near the Papadkhind dam in Virar where he was to perform a pooja.
Police are speaking to family members as to whether his temple visit was planned and the people who were aware of his early morning outing.
The autopsy report is awaited to ascertain the nature of stab wounds.
