Mumbai Lockdown Guidelines: BMC announces relaxation on lockdown restrictions; essential and non-essential shops to remain open till 10 pm | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday issued orders lifting orders for lockdown restrictions. As per the new orders, shops and establishments both essential and non-essential will be allowed to remain open on all days till 10 pm.
However, malls will not be allowed to remain open.
The medical shops will be allowed to remain open 24×7.
There is no major relief for restaurants. Hotels and restaurants will be allowed to remain open till 4 pm on all days for dine-in including weekends. So far, they were allowed to remain open only on weekdays.
The BMC allowed all indoor and outdoor sports activities except for the operation of swimming pools and other sporting activities where close physical contact is required.
The BMC has also allowed film shooting in Mumbai by following Covid-19 norms.
“Except for the above relaxations, all other activities will have to be followed as per the earlier restrictions that are imposed for private offices, malls and theatres followed by the opening of public grounds and gardens,” said the order issued by Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Chahal.
Chahal said in his order that Mumbai had a positivity rate of 1.76 per cent and the oxygen bed occupancy is 18.97 per cent. While these are rates for level 1 resections, the state government had last month issued orders that local bodies relax below level 3 restrictions.
