Mumbai: Five held for stealing six-month-old child in Kalyan | Mumbai News – Times of India


KALYAN: The Mahatma Phule police in Mumbai’s Kalyan have arrested a gang of five people, including two different couples, for stealing a six-month-old baby boy from a roadside mother.
The accused stole the child while the mother was sleeping and sold the kid to another couple for Rs 1 lakh which was planning to sell the child to someone else whom police are now searching.

The accused have been identified as Vishal Thryambke,20, Kunal Pote, 23, his wife Aarti Pote (20), Hina Majeed, 26, and her husband Farhan Majeed (38).
Police said Vishal is a resident of Mohane area in Kalyan while Pote couple is from Dive while Majeed family is from Bhiwandi.
Sambhaji Jadhav, senior police inspector of Mahatma Phule police station, said, “The primary probe has revealed that the Diva-based couple stole child and sold to Bhiwandi’s Majeed couple for Rs 1 lakh and further Majeed couple had planned to sell the child someone else whom our team is searching.”
