MUMBAI: For the second day in a row, the Covid-19 vaccination will not take place in the city due to a shortage of doses.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed that the vaccination will now resume on Friday.
The civic body will receive a fresh stock on Wednesday late at night and it will be distributed at the government and civic bodies centers on Thursday.
The BMC will receive a fresh stock of 61,200 doses including 50,000 Covishield and 11,200 Covaxin.
“The vaccine will be distributed throughout the day after it becomes available. Citizens will not be vaccinated on Thursday (July 22, 2021). However, vaccination will start on Friday, July 23, 2021, at government and civic body centers in Mumbai,” said the BMC.
Several municipal corporations in the MMR region continue to face a shortage of doses.
Due to vaccine shortage, the vaccination will also not be conducted in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) area.
