Hyderabad: Telangana records 609 Covid-19 cases, 4 deaths | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Telangana recorded 609 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths on Tuesday even as the number of active cases in the state stood at 8,777.
The total count of cases since the beginning of the pandemic last year stands at 6,46,606 and the death toll stands at 3,811.
The number of active containment zones in the state stood at 31.
Apart from two containment zones in Hyderabad, Jagtiyal and Karimnagar have majority of the active containment zones in the state.
A total of 647 patients were declared recovered on Tuesday, taking the total count of recovered patients to 6,34,018.
The case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 0.58 per cent while the recovery rate stood at 98.05 per cent now.
So far 79.8 percent of overall cases in the state have been asymptomatic while 20.2 percent have been symptomatic.
On Tuesday, 1,08,921 samples were tested for the novel coronavirus.
Telangana has now completed testing 2.23 crore samples and has reached 5.99 lakh sample testing per million population.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation recorded 81 new cases on Tuesday, while neighbouring Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 36 cases, Ranga Reddy recorded 36 and Sanga Reddy recorded 7 cases.
Outside of Hyderabad city and its outskirts, Jangaon, Peddapalli, Yadadri Bhongir, Warangal Urban and Khammam saw more cases.
