Google has removed the digital payment and financial services app Paytm from its Google Playstore. Google also blamed the move on Paytm. Google claims in its blog that PayTM violates Google rules, “We don’t support any gambling-driven, online cash-backing app.”

The move was made on Paytm in violation of Google’s gambling policies. These include apps that encourage customers to visit an external website that offers them the chance to win cash or cash prizes in sports by taking money. This is a violation of Google’s policies.

PayTM offers money winning commission through ‘PayTM First Games’. Thus you will not find Paytm in Google Play Store. But Google only has apps like Paytm for business, Paytm Mall and Paytm Money.

Google said on Friday (September 18) that apps promoting betting on games are not allowed and such apps will be removed from the Google Play Store. Before the major games like IPL in India, such applications are being launched in large numbers.

Google claims in its blog post that its policies will protect users from potential harm. However, Google has not made it clear whether the app has been removed or not. When an application violates these policies, its developer is notified and is removed from the Google Play Store until the developer complies with the rules.

Paytm is the governing body that has responded to this move by Google. Google has expressed confidence in returning to the Google Play Store platform.
