Facing electricity issue in Tamil Nadu? Use this WhatsApp number to make complaints | Chennai News – Times of India

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu electricity minister V Senthil Balaji has directed Tangedco officials to ensure that all helplines should be in operation round the clock to receive complaints regarding power cut from the public. People can complain about power cut or damaged cables/electric poles to the helpline number-1912 or WhatsApp with photograph to 9445850811.
The minister chaired a virtual review meeting with the department officials on Sunday. The minister instructed the officials that all medical college hospitals, government hospitals, primary health care centres, medical oxygen manufacturing industries’ have round the clock electricity and special officers be deployed in all these institutions.
Tangedco officials have also been instructed to ensure that there is no interruption in power supply, especially in the hilly areas, during the full lockdown.
The minister advised officials to make due announcements to the public through all proper channels before undertaking shutdown for periodic maintenance and make steps to ensure that there are no frequent power cuts in the future.
“Public complaints should be attended at any time of the day and a register should be maintained and reviewed periodically by supervisory officials,” the minister told the officials.
The minister asked the officials to ensure that all field staff are provided with necessary protective equipment such as masks, gloves and other items in view of Covid-19.
