Covid-19: Step up work on Covid facilities, minister tells Thane civic body | Thane News - Times of India

THANE: Thane’s guardian minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday asked the municipal administration to step up work and ensure the parking plaza and Voltas-Pokhran field hospitals are made operational at the earliest amid the rising cases of coronavirus infection.
“Presently, the ratio of beds available and volume of patients is grossly skewed in the city following which Shinde is learnt to have urged the administration to make these facilities operative at the earliest,” said a civic official.
The municipal administration has also formed special cells and deputed senior officials to oversee the operations of Covid management in Thane, including management of beds, ambulances and oxygen supply.
Meanwhile, Thane city recorded 1,266 new coronavirus cases and 10 related deaths during the day.
The recovery rate in the city improved to 86%. The city now has 14,473 active Covid-19 patients.
