As many as 1,175 people have died due to Covid-19 in the KE ward that comprises Andheri East, Jogeshwari East and Vile-Parle East. The death toll in the city is 15,451.

“We are paying special attention to such areas, apart from providing medical facilities. We are also making sure that the residents in such areas are following Covid appropriate behaviour. Clean-up marshals are posted in such areas to make sure people wear masks. The marshals have been fining people who don’t wear the masks,” said the officer.
In the worst-hit KE ward, a total of 51,612 people have been discharged, followed by RC ward where 48,473 people have been discharged, and in the KE ward, 43,370 people have been discharged.
There are a total of 8,351 active cases in the city of which 973 are in KW ward, 622 in RC ward and 560 in KE ward.
