Chennai: 597 personnel receive Tamil Nadu CM’s police medal | Chennai News – Times of India


CHENNAI: In all, 597 police personnel in the city were awarded Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s constabulary medal on Thursday.
As many as 208 personnel from law and order department, 196 from traffic, 74 from Armed Reserve and 168 from Central Crime Branch (CCB), Intelligence Section, Control room, were selected for the award.
All together, 497 personnel turned up and received medals from commissioner Shankar Jiwal. The rest of the awardees will be given their medals at their respective police stations. The medals were given to personnel who had given unblemished service in the department.
Speaking on the occasion, Jiwal urged the personnel to provide exemplary service and get medals. For best results, the morale of the policemen must also be kept on a high level, he said and added 94% of the personnel have taken the first dose of Covid vaccine and 52% have already completed their second dose.
He lauded those who received the medals for their exemplary work.
