BJP leader Mukul Roy arrives at TMC party office in Kolkata | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Amid talks of rejoining Trinamool Congress (TMC), BJP national vice-president Mukul Roy on Friday arrived at Trinamool Bhawan. He is likely to meet the party’s top brass.
On Friday afternoon, when asked by reporters where he was going as he left his home, Roy answered “Trinamool Bhavan”, amid speculation that he might return to the ruling party in West Bengal.
TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee was reported to have left her Kalighat residence, as heightened security measures were noticed at the Trinamool Bhavan off the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, Kolkata.

Amid speculations of rejoining the TMC, Mukul Roy arrives at Trinamool Bhawan in Kolkata on Friday.

Roy, the former second-in-command of the TMC who joined the saffron party in November 2017, has been distancing himself from the BJP for the last several days.

Roy, once a close aide of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, did not attend June 8 meeting to discuss the post-election strategy called by the state BJP leadership.
